InDesign HW 1

 Tutorial 1:

This tutorial helps in learning Adobe InDesign quickly because it covers the basics that are essential to learn in using other features within the program in only 9 minutes. The first feature that this video covers is how to use pages and layers. Creating guides is also another feature that is easy to use to keep a document clean and organized. The rectangle frame tool is a simple way to create space for images to be placed in a document. While reviewing the text tool, I found it helpful to know that you can fill a blank textbox with placeholder text to preview what it would look like. This is a very good video for beginners.

Tutorial 2:

This is another tutorial for beginners that covers the basics of the tools and how to use them in 10 simple tips. Instead of describing how to use the tools in a step-by-step fashion, this video applies the use of multiple tools and settings to complete basic InDesign procedures. Some of these procedures include changing the text case format, working with text and object containers, using drop shadows and object effects, creating and editing tables, previewing pages with bleed, margin, and slug, etc. These skills are easy to learn but very important because text is a large part of InDesign.

Tutorial 3:

This tutorial covers how to put together simple layouts using some tips and skills mentioned in the first two tutorials. This is a good video to watch and learn how to use a beginner/intermediate skillset to create a document that looks professional and put-together in InDesign. The tutorial makes use of the simpler tools to create a more complex design on the page, making a few magazine layouts. This video also goes over an easy way of how to wrap text on objects and images.
